The Global Vitiligo Foundation (GVF) commends the newly announced partnership between Incyte and supermodel and beauty entrepreneur Winnie Harlow, who together are bringing national attention to vitiligo through The Power of Choice campaign.
Vitiligo affects an estimated 1.9 to 2.8 million people in the United States, yet awareness and understanding of the condition remain limited. Through personal storytelling and education, this campaign seeks to foster empathy and dialogue around vitiligo and the diverse experiences of those who live with it.
“The Global Vitiligo Foundation celebrates any effort that amplifies the voices of people living with vitiligo,” said Seemal R. Desai, MD, President of the Global Vitiligo Foundation. “Winnie Harlow’s courage and authenticity continue to inspire millions, and partnerships like this one help shift public perception—from misunderstanding and stigma toward awareness and acceptance. At GVF, our mission is to support individuals with vitiligo and empower them to live fully and confidently, whatever choices they make in managing their condition.”
GVF recognizes Incyte’s ongoing commitment to education and advocacy for people with vitiligo, including its collaboration with patient communities and dermatologists to increase understanding of this chronic autoimmune condition.
“This partnership underscores what GVF believes at its core,” Dr. Desai added. “That every person’s journey with vitiligo is unique, and that compassion, community, and knowledge can change lives.”
