Suncor Falls Short

While Suncor Energy Inc. (NYSE: SU) reversed year ago losses to post a fourth quarter profit, the results fell far short of expectations sending the stock price down $1.74 to close at $30.99.

 

Fourth quarter earnings more than tripled for Lexmark International Inc. (NYSE: LXK) to 76 cents per share from 23 cents per share last year to beat expectations by a wide margin as the printing and imaging solutions company cut costs. The stock price soared $3.21 to close at $30.01.

 

D. R. Horton Inc. (NYSE: DHI) reported its first quarterly profit in nearly three years. First quarter earnings surged to 56 cents per share from a loss of 20 cents per share in the year ago period. Shares of the homebuilder climbed $1.18 to 13.09.

Ann Taylor Stores Corp. (NYSE: ANN) announced that fourth quarter earnings will top estimates and far outpace last year's results sending the stock price soaring $2.05 to $15.4

 

Comsys To Be Acquired By Manpower

Comsys IT Partners Inc. (Nasdaq: CITP) will be acquired by Manpower Inc. (NYSE: MAN) in a deal valued at approximately $431 million. Shares of Comsys leaped $4.24 to $17.47 while Manpower stock climbed $2.22 to $55.38.

 

Leap Wireless Exploring Options

Leap Wireless International Inc. (Nasdaq: LEAP) is exploring strategic options including the sale of the company or a merger with one of its competitors sending the stock price up $1.73 to close at $14.92.

Art Technology Group Inc. (Nasdaq: ARTG) will offer 25 million common shares in order to raise capital. The stock price dropped 46 cents to close at $4.02.

 

Gaming revenue in Macau surged 63.3% in January to lift shares of Las Vegas Sands Corp. (NYSE: LVS) $1.61 to close at $17.11.

 

Bank of Florida (Nasdaq: BOFL) widened fourth quarter losses to $1.55 per share from 78 cents per share in the year ago period as loan loss provisions nearly doubled but the stock price rose 13 cents to $1.34.

Conolog Corp. (Nasdaq: CNLG) received advanced orders for 280 of its PDR systems and other equipment valued at over $1.9 million. The stock price more than doubled by leaping $2.35 to $4.46.
