Leaders Close To Finalizing Aid Package For Greece

Optimism that European leaders were close to finalizing a financial aid package for Greece lifted the Dow 42 points to close at 12,004. Nasdaq lost 7 points to 2616.

On the upside

Shares of National Bank of Greece (NYSE: NBG) rose as European leaders inch closer to finalizing a financial aid package for Greece.

Retreating oil prices lifted shares of United Continental (NYSE: UAL).

Primo Water (Nasdaq: PRMW) priced its public offering of 6 million common shares at $11.26 per share.

On the downside

Shares of Yuhe International (Nasdaq: YUII) continued falling after the company released incremental documentation related to an acquisition in December 2009.

A-Power Energy Generation (Nasdaq: APWR) board member Robert B. Leckie resigend.

Deer Consumer Products (Nasdaq: DEER) announced that there were no negative company developments that caused the stock price to drop.

In the broad market, advancing issues outpaced decliners by a margin of more than 5 to 3 on the NYSE while decliners barely edged out advancers by a slim margin on Nasdaq. The Russell 2000 which tracks small cap stocks edged up a fraction to 781.
